This process is intense and focuses on surfacing issues and giving candid feedback in the service of driving positive business outcomes. While this may be hard for some, as psychologist we work hard to ensure that everyone is safe though that does not always mean comfortable. In our many years of facilitating team offsites, we have found that unresolved teaming challenges often translate into poor alignment, problems with decision-making, a lack of buy-in and ultimately poor execution. The investment made upfront to improve team dynamics directly translates into better communication skills, improved conflict management, better decision-making, stronger alignment and yes more effective implementation and execution. Our work clears the pathway for teams to increase their operational effectiveness and efficiency so they are more agile and better equipped to respond to internal/organizational and external/marketplace dynamics and demands quickly.
